Important For Your Child’s Safety

To comply with State Law and to maximize the safety of our students we require that all non-parent volunteers submit a fingerprint card. The fingerprint packet will be furnished upon request. We also check the National Sexual Offender Registry. All parents and non-parents must receive clearance before they are able to volunteer.

There have always been volunteers in the Altar Valley School and their contributions are beyond measure. It is because we valued their efforts that we have launched a new program designed to organize our volunteers, direct their efforts, and increase their overall effectiveness in our schools.

Partners for SuccessWe have named our program Partners for Success. With additional help in our schools our teachers will have more time to spend on teaching and our students will benefit from the additional attention. We all will truly partner for our children’s success.

We appreciate the donation of time and talent of our volunteers and we will work to make your volunteering productive and enjoyable.

There is a wide range of activities a volunteer can do to help in the schools, from copying workbook pages to listening to a child read. You can help the front office, be a mentor or become involved in an after school program. You can volunteer weekly or maybe just a few hours per month. Any time you dedicate to our school children is greatly appreciated. All you need is the desire to become involved. Please fill out the Registration Form to let us know you are interested in making a difference.

Once your application has been processed, yet before you begin volunteering, we will schedule a training session to help you understand your volunteer role and to answer any questions you might have.

Please feel free to contact our new Volunteer Coordinator, Trish Hastings-Sargent, with any questions. You can reach her at (520) 822-9418 ext. 206 or e-mail her.
