Robles Elementary All-Star Student of the Month
Jaxon N., Fourth Grade
Jaxon embodies the true spirit of Robles Elementary School every day. Since he was a toddler, he has brought a warm smile and a heart full of kindness to our school community. He is always respectful, courteous, and polite, greeting friends and staff with enthusiasm and opening doors for others. His positive attitude and friendly nature make him a joy to be around.
In the reading lab, Jaxon takes ownership of his learning and engages fully in every lesson. After the challenges of the pandemic, he embraces each opportunity to grow, demonstrating an open mind and a strong work ethic. He never shies away from difficult tasks and perseveres, even when lessons are challenging.
Jaxon consistently puts in effort, focuses on his work, and practices essential skills to continue making progress. His growth at the beginning of this school year reflects his commitment to learning and self-improvement.

Robles Elementary All-Star Employee of the Month
Chienna Gelantaga-an, Kindergarten ELA and Social Studies
Ms. Chienna Gelantaga-an joined Robles Elementary last year as a kindergarten teacher and quickly proved to be an invaluable part of our school community. Working with our youngest learners can be both challenging and rewarding, but Ms. Chienna makes it look effortless. Her dedication, patience, and passion for early literacy shine through in everything she does.
Now serving as the kinder literacy teacher, Ms. Chienna is doing incredible work with our students. Her commitment to building strong foundational reading skills has led to outstanding results. At the middle-of-the-year assessment, an impressive 82% of kindergarten students were at grade level for their phonics skills—an achievement that speaks volumes about her effective teaching strategies and unwavering support for her students.
Beyond her instructional success, Ms. Chienna brings warmth and positivity to Robles every day. She greets students with a smile, fosters a nurturing classroom environment, and approaches every challenge with patience and kindness. Her ability to connect with students and make learning engaging sets her apart as a truly exceptional educator.

Emma M., Eighth Grade
Altar Valley Middle School is proud to recognize Emma as our Student of the Month! As an 8th grader, Emma exemplifies what it means to be a critical thinker and problem solver. She approaches challenges with patience and determination, always seeking the best solution with a level-headed and objective mindset.
Emma is a natural leader, but what sets her apart is her ability to listen to learn, not just to respond. She values the perspectives of others, making her a strong and compassionate peer. She is accepting of everyone and is always willing to help those in need, creating a positive and inclusive environment for her classmates.
Her attention to detail ensures that she excels in her work and responsibilities, and her ability to remain patient and objective makes her a role model for others. Emma’s leadership, kindness, and dedication to learning make her truly deserving of this recognition. Congratulations, Emma!

At Altar Valley Middle School, we are honored to recognize the dynamic duo of Gloria Vasquez and Maria McCormick as our Staff of the Month! From day one, these two hardworking women have worked seamlessly together, forming the heart of the SEAS class. They meet students where they are and bring out the very best in each of them.
Their dedication to building strong, steadfast relationships with students is undeniable. When one of them is absent, their students feel the loss all day, a true testament to the impact they make. Whether Gloria is in the classroom or leading the after-school program—teaching students to cook or sew—engagement is always at the center of her work. Meanwhile, Maria lends a listening ear during recess duty, reinforcing the power of relationships in student growth.
We are incredibly proud to have both Gloria and Maria as part of our AVMS family. Their passion, commitment, and teamwork truly make a difference every day!
